What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior Consultant, Application Development is responsible for leading the functional design and development of application systems across all technologies and platforms. The role provides consultation for senior management on a wide spectrum of existing and emerging infrastructure technologies, translating user requirements to process and data requirements and developing solutions for the business with far-reaching impact. The Senior Consultant, Application Development provides technical leadership to develop precise steps and processing logic across all platforms, ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs. In addition, the role provides comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams.

How You'll Succeed

  • Strategic Development & Execution : Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand the business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap. Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.

  • Strategy and Roadmap : Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements

  • Stakeholder Management : Act as the solution lead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving.

  • Programming Skills - Develop code and test computer programs for straightforward assignments. Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, and debugging.

  • Systems Implementation - Participate in the technical design, development, and integration of cross functional, multi-platform application systems.

  • Production Support – You will be taking part in day-to-day production support work and support business users if there are any production issues. You will work with application support teams to analyze log files and resolve the issues based on priority.

  • Time Management - You will plan and manage multiple, individual and/or team priorities to meet established timelines and take part in estimation for various intakes.

  • Requirement Analysis and Design - You will help translate Business Requirements into Solution Requirements and Technical design. This may include working directly with the Business to gain a complete understanding of their request to ensure the end solution meets their needs with minimal design defects.

  • Experimentation and Innovation – Challenge the status quo, look for opportunities to improve and optimize the delivery process. Increase our production monitoring and infrastructure automation capabilities

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 7+ years’ experience in

  • Designing, developing, implementing, documenting, and supporting applications with expertise in most of the following: .NET 6 or later (C#), REST API, Web Services, Microservices, User controls.

  • Familiarity with .NET, Angular/Web development, DevOps processes is also desirable for this role along with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Azure Cloud.

  • You have a deep understanding of Design Patterns and experience with dependency injection.

  • Good understanding of SPA Architecture and designing applications for the Cloud, JavaScript, WebSocket, CI/CD pipeline, experience on DevOps.

  • Extensive experience with relational databases, design, queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Experience working in an Agile environment. It’s an asset if:

  • You have previous experience supporting a Finance Technology client group, contact center technology (but not a requirement); previous experience working within Agile teams.

  • You have work experience in Agile, Iterative and Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Experience building and integrating with external systems using REST API.

  • Strong knowledge in working with Microsoft .NET Development, Design architecture, Design Patterns, Front End technologies and integration of libraries.

  • Good knowledge of enterprise architecture and standards for the development and end to end delivery of the projects and initiatives.

  • Capabilities and experience of application tech stack migration, cloud migration and best practices.

  • You have knowledge and some experience with containerization – Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift

  • You have knowledge and some experience with implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure

  • You are analytical thinker. You have ability to investigate and troubleshoot as well as process improvement, documentation, estimation for the code development.

  • You're a strong communicator. You have strong verbal & written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to articulate yourself clearly to technology partners.
