The Team:

The Reference Data team is responsible for the development and maintenance of our growing product within the Data & Insights (DI) group. Our team services internal clients as well as external clients and is focused on developing a competitive suite of offerings for the broader marketplace.

The Impact:

As part of our team, you may be responsible for the design, architecture, and/or development of our data loading, data storage, validation, and publishing applications using a variety of tools and technologies which continue to evolve as we explore new innovations. The work you do will contribute to an essential part of what an S&P Global analyst will use as they provide equity analysis, research, opinion, and performance data to help clients/investors make informed decisions.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,300 to $115,850. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in an Agile software development environment

  • Develop tools, applications, and business solutions with clean, high quality and efficient code

  • Champion best practices and serve as a subject matter expert where applicable

  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners

  • Collaborate remotely with our global team in order to remove blockers and expedite individual tasks

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent

  • 5+ years of hands-on application development experience in application development, preferably using one or more of Java, C#, C++ Strong OOP and core development skills including Multithreading, Data Structures, and Microservices

  • Hands-on experience in writing complex SQL queries on Relational Databases like MS SQL Server & Oracle.

  • Strong understanding of RDBMS, SQL, and NoSQL alternatives and performance tuning

  • Command of essential development tools: Git, CI/CD Pipelines, JIRA, Software Development IDE (Visual Studio or similar)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of working with AWS, NoSQL Databases, Angular, or React is a plus

  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Open-minded, flexible, and willing to adapt to changing situations.

  • Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed teams to achieve project plan deliverables and exceed client expectations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
