Job Description:

Department Overview

The TDBG Global AML Department (GAML) is responsible for Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF), Sanctions and Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (ABAC) regulatory compliance and prudential risk management across the TD footprint. We act as proactive and trusted advisors to TD Business Lines, while supporting a consistent, adaptable and effective culture across the organization, to make sure AML, ATF, Sanctions and ABAC program risks are appropriately identified and mitigated. We direct the design, content and enterprise-wide implementation of TD’s AML Program. The AML, Business Management and Training team is part of the AML Program Governance pillar which represents a dynamic and global centre of excellence within the Global Anti-Money Laundering (GAML) function for business management and training. The business management pillar of the team provide a consolidated view and process for all operations in GAML (except FIU). The processes will support the daily operations of TD's AML Program and comply with regulatory requirements wherever TD operates. This team works with GAML, TD and external partners in the delivery of its mandate. Roles in this team also have a mandate to support the GAML teams with appropriate internal training and guidance on existing and new regulation as needed.

Job Description:

The Global Anti-Money Laundering (GAML) department at TD is accountable for establishing TD's Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) programs to ensure compliance with applicable AML/ATF regulatory requirements in jurisdictions where TD operates.

The Business Management team is a new function within GAML and focuses on AML/ATF budgets, FTE forecasting, onboarding, and communications. Responsibilities in a typical day may include liaising with internal and external stakeholders, conducting research and preparing reports.

Job Accountabilities:

The Senior Manager, FCRM Business Management will:

  • Possess a high level of integrity in managing matters that are both sensitive and highly confidential in nature and provides decision support and insight to senior leaders

  • Support the Management in developing reports and presenting monitoring/analysis results to the Executive team, Auditors, Model Validation, and other stakeholders on the overall operations of GAML

  • Contribute to the development and periodic reviews of internal business procedures

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve any of the existing RMO model governance, monitoring, and reporting processes

  • Collaborate with GAML stakeholders to optimize the solutions supporting TD's GAML operations such as streamlining onboarding/offboarding requests, tracking and reports of people, resources and technology

  • Deliver on a variety of strategic projects, including transformational initiatives to enable functional growth, risk management and an integrated strategy implementation; ensure senior executives are kept abreast of relevant information and progress

  • Support with developing long-term strategic planning, business case justifications, and cost/benefit analyses for operations spending and initiatives to support business processes and approved projects

  • Assist with creating cost-effective solutions to deployment of information processing and communication technologies

  • Identify issues requiring attention and participate in solutions directly, or in consultation with relevant function/business leaders and other internal/external groups as necessary

  • Support preparation and delivery of executive level materials, financial analysis and help articulate the strategic vision of the business

  • Manage an inventory of key business activities, initiatives and accomplishments to be leveraged for business updates, communications, media publications, conferences, etc.

  • Effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and business partners across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains

  • Take ownership of assigned tasks; provide regular status updates, escalate key issues appropriately, and propose solutions and remediation plans

  • Effectively manage a growing team to support the department operations

Job Requirements:

  • Familiar with AML/ATF field, applicable regulations, policies, and industry best practices

  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills

  • Strong storytelling, slide development, and report writing skills

  • Demonstrated time management, project management, and stakeholder management skills

  • Highly organized and diligent individual with the ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating flexibility to adjust to changing work priorities

  • Strong research and analytical skills, ability to review/analyze data and information, draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations

  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency

  • Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives

  • Support a positive work environment that promotes quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest

Experience and Education

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required

  • 7+ years relevant experience
