WSP USA Project Resource Coordinator, Rail & Transit in Toronto, Ontario

The Opportunity:

WSP is hiring a Resource Coordinator to join our Transportation Systems team. In this role, you will report directly to the Resource Manager of Transportation Systems and play a crucial part in facilitating and overseeing project activities.

As a Resource Coordinator on the Transportation Systems team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective allocation of resources necessary for the successful execution of transportation engineering projects. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the planning, coordination, and monitoring of resources required to meet project objectives, deadlines, and quality standards. By collaborating with various team members and stakeholders, you will help optimize resource allocation and contribute to the overall success of our projects.

As a member of the Transportation Systems team, you will be given opportunities to apply your education and experience on large, complex projects. You will be challenged to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a very high standard of care. You will gain knowledge through mentorship and skills development, fast-tracking your professional development to becoming a strong Resource Coordinator in the Transportation consulting field.

What you can expect do here:

  • Act as a central point of contact for resource-related inquiries from project managers and other stakeholders;

  • Coordinate the allocation of resources, ensuring that they are assigned appropriately to the projects based on skillsets, availability, and project priorities;

  • Generate resource reports and dashboards to provide project stakeholders with a clear overview of resource usage, highlighting any concerns or opportunities for improvement;

  • Foster open communication and collaboration among project teams;

  • Assist with the identification, selection, and interviewing of candidates on a best for project basis;

  • Ensure all project documentation is compliant with project formats, company standards, styles, and verification forms;

  • Communicate in a professional manner;

  • Other duties as assigned/required.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited University or College;

  • Excellent communication skills;

  • 3 – 5 years of professional working experience;

  • Strong computer skills including MS Excel and MS Outlook;

  • Strong work ethic and sense of commitment;
