The Manager, Data Sensitivity contributes to the overall success of the Data Office in ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The main function of a Manager, Data Sensitivity is to review a data domain’s activities to confirm that their critical data elements, data sources and data governance activities comply with Policy and Standards.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Reviews and approves data sensitivity reviews submitted by business domains and data initiatives to ensure the level of protection required for data complies with internal policies and procedures

  • Develops subject matter expertise on enterprise data sensitivity and maintain the list of sensitivity data elements in partnership with the Enterprise Privacy Office and Information Security & Controls

  • Develop strong working relationships with partners across the organization, to ensure consistency and alignment on best practices

  • Track and report on process performance and adherence, identifying areas of improvement and recommending practical and innovative solutions

  • Support data governance tools by managing business requirements, represent the Data Office in the sprints and conducting business acceptance testing as required

  • Provides training and support of the data governance process and tooling to business domains

  • Develops and maintains user guides to ensure data domains have resources required for data sensitivity reviews

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • This role requires an understanding of data governance leading practices and strong knowledge of the Bank’s data policy and standards

  • Experience in data governance initiatives, policy and standards and providing guidance and support to data domains

  • Ability to exercise good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

  • Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines

  • Ability to solve technical processes/problems and understand complex details

  • Ability to increase operating efficiency and produce high quality technical solutions

  • A high level of interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills necessary to relate to other people

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience, preferably in a bank / financial institution
