The Director HR Organizational Design role is an exciting role that will shape how we fully globalize the HR function and organize for the future. This role will focus on defining HR’s target operating model and global structure, including defining global standards around HR processes and identify where to automate, simplify and centralize. The role will partner closely with colleagues and teams across Global Human Resources, and Global Business Leaders.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Develop the global HR target operating model design and structure, by working closely with HR leaders across the global footprint and provides recommendations for a global structure on roles and mandates.

  • Work in partnership with the Organizational Effectiveness COE on the overall HR org design, and reporting structure, to fully operate as a united and global HR team.

  • Lead a team who will be defining the standard operating procedures for all HR processes in partnership with process / functional leaders / owners, with the goal to simplify and standardize how we operate.

  • Provide recommendations to functional leaders and HR senior leadership around key changes we may need to make and delivers executive level materials and presentations.

  • Conduct diagnostics, perform gap analyses, generate insights and develop recommendations that are client-specific but aligned with overall enterprise practices and direction.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Proven subject matter expertise and leadership of organizational design and/or strategic workforce planning

  • Spanish is an asset to support global partners and business leaders

  • Ability to think strategically and frame recommendations to inform global process standards

  • Experienced researcher who turns insights into thought leadership and ideas that can be readily applied

  • Deep experience in collaborative partnership and building strong cross-cultural and cross-divisional partnerships while being a positive advocate for the global HR team

  • Strong HR acumen, high learning agility and a genuine curiosity for how the organization operates

  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent facilitation skills to develop and facilitate workshops and training sessions

  • Solid project management discipline to oversee execution of complex strategies and drive results in a complex, constantly evolving business environment

  • Support multiple stakeholders across GHR partnering with country HR leads as well as functional owners

  • Regular interaction with Global HR, Finance, Corporate Functions and global business leaders

  • Operate in a highly matrixed environment and scope of initiatives are enterprise wide
