What You’ll Be Doing

As a DevOps Consultant, you will join CIBC’s Corporate Centre Technology who is responsible of supporting the Enterprise DevOps tooling, technology, and process roadmap; collect and identify DevOps requirements and gaps; provide user support and solutions; implement DevSecOps solutions. The Consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our Enterprise Tools. The DevOps Consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure, and implement best practices for monitoring, provide incident response and will assist in delivering projects in a multi-platform environment by performing routine analysis, process automation, operational support and administration of the tools.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Leadership & Communication – Collaborate with senior team members and leaders across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance the Enterprise DevOps Tools. Weigh business needs against technology offerings, security concerns and provide recommendations to improve the user experience, which are practical and achievable.

  • Governance – Proactively contribute to governance initiatives in the development of company policies, audit requirements etc. Provide technical or business guidance to clients within and outside your own department. Establish and maintain procedures and documentation related to the Enterprise Toolchain, while adhering to the organization’s standard concepts, best practices and procedures.

  • Analysis & Support: Provide day to day operational and application support to resolve complex issues for our clients.  Provide technical operational expertise to assess proposed application modifications / upgrades.   Create necessary artifacts in support of Change Management process.  Document processes and create / maintain  support guides for the various applications.  Work with colleagues to verify and ensure the overall stability of the environments.  Escalate technology issues to the appropriate application support and technology infrastructure groups.

  • Troubleshooting Skills: Identify and resolve medium to complex production problems. Monitor and analyze supported services to identify opportunities for improvement or automation and recommend solutions. Analyze complex technical information to determine risk levels and technical feasibility when making changes to applications. Identify root cause and defining actions to eliminate recurrence.  Work with vendors and other internal support groups as required to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.

  • Relationship Building - Required to respond to client's inquires and requests, providing professional high quality customer service. You will interact with business partners, technology groups, internal users and vendors .

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in  Providing production application support and have experience with defining, implementing changes to, and supporting a production application throughout all stages of the development lifecycle, from requirements through to design, development, rollout, support and maintenance. Must have knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical problems (hardware, software, application or operational). You can demonstrate 3+ years’ experience in administering enterprise tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory and in developing /  maintaining automation scripts. It’s an asset if: you ALM, LRE (Load Runner), Topteam experience, we will also consider developer experience.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or a related field of study. You embrace and champion change. You’ll continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.
