Job title: Project Engineering Intern

Location: North York, On

Position Summary

We are looking for a Project Engineering Intern based at our North York location from June to October. This role will be working with our Project Management team.

A day in the life of a Project Engineering Intern

As a Project Engineering Intern you will be working on industrial engineering projects being executed at the Nestle Confectionery Factory. You will be involved in scoping, costing, managing, and executing project activities while working with internal and external stakeholders under the supervision of the Engineering Manager.

You will also:

• Study process issues, collect and analyse data, perform engineering calculations, and devise technical solutions to solve problems.

• Develop engineering scope, plan execution schedule, and estimate project cost of implementing the solutions.

• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate communication, breakdown work elements, plan execution, and monitor and supervise progress.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and maintenance colleagues on process improvement and automation initiatives.

• Play a key role in working with different functions on site to ensure successful project execution.

What will make you successful?

As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to support research into industrial automation, automatic guided vehicles, conveying and storage systems, silos and tanks, process control, and smart manufacturing and provide support to corporate engineering with their on-going projects.

You will also:

• Currently enrolled in a university Engineering program.

• Previous Engineering experience is an asset, but not mandatory.

• Involvement in extracurricular activities which demonstrate initiative and leadership.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively across all functions and levels.

• Fast learner, and must be comfortable working within a dynamic, challenging environment.

• A results and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Computer literate (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
