This position is responsible for fulfilling the JVSG duties under the Wagner-Peyser Act. This position specializes in customers professional growth by implementing and monitoring a targeted employment plan. In addition, this position assists customers with available resources and/or programs specific to their needs. Daily environment includes continuous contact with the public and requires a valid drivers license or ability to travel as needed to conduct outreach and case management with veterans. Overnight travel will be required.

This is technical and specialized work planning, implementing and monitoring program activities as they relate to assisting Military Veterans. Daily environment includes continuous contact with the public and requires a valid drivers license or ability to travel as needed to conduct outreach and connect with veterans.

The position is located at the Topeka Workforce Center in Topeka, KS.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Create enthusiasm among businesses for hiring veterans and championing for those who have served in the Armed Forces
• Educate businesses and community leaders about veterans\' employment services
• Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending networking events.
• Outreach to new and existing businesses to discuss their needs and determine how Workforce Center services can be of benefit. Outreach is a mix of in-person and electronic.
• Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as outreach strategies or business information.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including detailed customer notes and service history in theKANSASWORKS customer management system.
• Facilitate workshops, in coordination with employers, in the areas of work readiness and business skills.
