5+ years of DevOps experience

Experience with containerized applications development using Kubernetes

Background of full stack software development using Java, Kotlin and React programming

Experience deploying applications

Experience with microservices and the Spring framework

Strong understanding and experience with relational database development including experience with NoSQL or Mongo DB

RESTful web services, APIs, JSON, XML

GIT/bitbucket repository or similar tool

Experience working in an Agile development methodology

Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment

Work independently and with supervisory review on complex tasks

Strong engineering mindset and attention to quality and detail - clean code, automated testing, peer review

Ability to collaborate with other software architects and engineers

Strong collaboration and team-building skills

Strong ability and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies

Desired Skills:

Ability to influence, mentor and develop skills in other technologists

Experience scripting in Python

Knowledge of build scripting tools such as Gradle, Ant, Maven, Gulp and Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)

Advanced SASS development

Proficient in developing HTML code, CSS, and Java Script

Description of Role/Responsibilities:

Our client is seeking a passionate Senior Platform Engineer. The role will require someone with a strong background full stack development using Java, Kotlin and React. As well as knowledge of DevOps including experience in Kubernetes. This role will be a majority of DevOps but will also include software development. The person is responsible for building enhancements and maintaining the platform/pipeline the developers work within. The role will contain automating deployments. The ideal person will be eager and open to learning new technologies and implementing them with their team.

Hours/Shift: 9-5pm
