Pearson Analyst, Pricing and Deal Desk Operations in Topeka, Kansas
The Analyst, Pricing and Deal Desk Operations, will support Pearson Education’s enterprise sales organization by assisting in the pricing strategy, deal structuring, and deal desk operations. This role will help optimize the pricing process, ensure deal compliance with company policies, and assist in providing timely, accurate pricing and deal approval support to the sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with sales, finance, and legal teams to ensure pricing and deals are aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Pricing Support:
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of pricing models and strategies across Pearson’s enterprise sales organization.
Help prepare pricing proposals for customer quotes, ensuring they are in line with internal pricing guidelines and profitability goals.
Assist in maintaining and updating pricing tools and templates to ensure consistency and efficiency in pricing processes.
Conduct competitive pricing analysis to help ensure Pearson’s offerings remain competitive in the market.
Deal Desk Operations:
Support the deal desk function by helping process pricing and deal-related requests from the sales team.
Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, finance, legal) to ensure all pricing, deal structures, and contract terms align with Pearson’s policies and profitability objectives.
Help manage the approval workflows for deals, ensuring that the necessary stakeholders review and approve deals in a timely manner.
Ensure that all deals are compliant with pricing guidelines and report any deviations to senior team members for further review.
Reporting & Analysis:
Assist in generating reports on pricing performance, deal structure, discounting trends, and deal approval timelines.
Analyze pricing and deal data to provide actionable insights that support the improvement of deal desk operations and pricing strategies.
Help track pricing performance metrics and deal desk KPIs to measure efficiency and effectiveness.
Process Improvement & Documentation:
Assist in identifying opportunities to streamline and improve the pricing and deal desk processes.
Help maintain and update internal documentation regarding pricing models, deal structures, and approval processes.
Collaborate with other team members to recommend improvements to existing systems or tools used in pricing and deal management.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in pricing, sales operations, or deal desk support within a sales environment.
Experience working with pricing models, deal structures, and sales teams is a plus.
Basic understanding of financial principles and pricing strategies.
Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to process and interpret data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data analysis) and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain pricing and deal-related information to non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What to expect from Pearson
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The full-time salary range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000.
