Description

Position:Shift Manager

Reports to:Operations Manager

FLSA Status:Exempt

Position Summary:Responsible for overseeing a casino\'s general operations and work schedules during their shifts; this position is supervisory in nature. Casino shift managers work within the casino, circulating among tables, and machines to observe customers and employees.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervises all activities on the casino floor; ensuring accordance with company procedures and adherence to management policy.
  • Enforces gaming regulations, verifies and signs credits; handles all irregularities or customer service issues.
  • Recognizes and reports any suspicious gaming activity, to ensure compliance with Title 31.
  • Ensures all areas follow casino and external policies and regulations.
  • Assists department managers and supervisors to streamline operations and promote the highest quality of service.
  • Coordinates, leads, and encourages employees and resolve team issues.
  • Resolves and addresses guest and employee disputes.
  • Recognizes and interacts with regular patrons and staff on a daily basis.
  • Verifies large jackpots and payouts in accordance with Casino policy and procedures.
  • Hires, disciplines, evaluate and interviews employees.
  • Makes various announcements to the Casino floor guests over the PA system.
  • Assist with other departments as needed.
  • Creates and maintains various reports for the Operations Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Three years of casino floor experience.
  • Previous Shift Manager experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform assigned duties in highly interruptive conditions.
  • Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of casino games and dealer procedures.
  • General gaming machine mechanical and software knowledge.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
  • Ability to recognize, any forms of cheating within the casino.
  • Ability to effectively resolve disputes with patrons and employees in a diplomatic and effective manner.

  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Physical agility to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs/ladders, work in small spaces, walk, reach and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • Requires occasional heavy physical work; pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to elements, such as dirt dust, fumes, smoke, flashing lights and loud noises. :::
