Traffic /Purchasing Specialist Summary: Coordinate all outbound/inbound traffic and associated functions, provided support to Purchasing Department. Expectations: Complete transportation tasks Daily. Maintain purchasing functions to improve effectiveness of purchasing department. Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment Understand role to improve overall company goals. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage all outgoing Domestic and international shipments and required paperwork. Monitor open Purchase Orders for potential delivery delays, and assist Procurement Specialists in finding solutions. Enter and create purchase orders with direction from Procurement Specialist. Communicate quality issues and maintain the vendor corrective action process. Assist in communicating and resolving material receipt issues (price, quantity & quality discrepancies). Update and maintain Supplier Information on NSS's Computer system (AS 400). Support manufacturing by ensuring that supplied components are available based on manufacturing schedule. Communicate with suppliers regarding quotes and specifications, as directed by Procurement Specialist. Manage supplier/Outside Warehouse inventory to positively affect the company inventory turn targets. Identify and negotiate potential cost reductions with suppliers Other Job Duties as assigned. Preferred Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field or 2yrs experience in logistic and purchasing Proficient with Microsoft Office skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability and motivation to learn to become proficient with NSS ERP system (AS400) Knowledge of Lean practices is a benefit Work Environment: Manufacturing Position type/Hours per week: Salary/40hrs Travel: Minimal We understand that candidates will not meet every single desired qualification.
