Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Construction Inspector to join our team. This role involves collecting, maintaining, and organizing construction documentation, traveling to construction project sites to ensure compliance with engineering plans and specifications, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors. The inspector will verify design plan accuracy in the field, consult on construction practices, and review changes in construction and materials specifications.

Responsibilities

• Collect, maintain, and organize construction documentation.

• Travel to construction project sites to review worksite compliance with engineering plans and specifications.

• Maintain strong client relationships as a company’s representative on the project site.

• Maintain strong relationships and communication with contractors and subcontractors.

• Verify design plan accuracy in the field.

• Consult with contractors and clients regarding construction practices, construction reports, and engineering designs.

• Review changes in construction and materials specifications with the Project Manager or Project Engineer.

• Complete daily logs of work progression.

• Review waterline blueprints to communicate effectively with general contractors and civil counterparts on the job site.

• Report issues with the projects as well as propose solutions.

Essential Skills

• Associates or Bachelors of Engineering or Engineering-related program.

• 2+ years of inspection experience for local municipalities, water resources, or sewer projects.

• Knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, procedures, and principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in construction, inspection, construction services, and civil engineering.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based on-site at a project in Toledo, with a mix of indoor and outdoor work environments. The initial project involves a 20,000 sq ft facility for the City of Toledo wastewater plant, expected to be completed in October. Subsequent projects will be located in Perrysburg, focusing on a wastewater project and pump station. Local travel is required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
