To apply: www.governmentjobs.com{rel="nofollow"} POSITION SUMMARY: The Application Support Manager plays a critical role in the success of an organization's IT systems. They ensure that software applications are meeting the needs of the organization, are performing efficiently, and are integrated with other IT systems. They must have strong leadership and project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of software development methodologies. *ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: *
- Develops and manages project timelines and budgets.
- Ensures that software applications are meeting the needs of the organization and are being used efficiently.
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify software needs and potential solutions.
- Identifies and mitigates risks associated with software development and implementation
- develops and maintains documentation for software applications, including user manuals and training materials
- Provides support for software applications and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Stays current with industry trends and technologies related to software development and implementation
- Directs the efforts of applications support professionals throughout the City.
- Performs other duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in Information Technology (IT) applicant management or related field.
- Must possess strong leadership, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Familiarity with database management systems, such as Oracle or SQL Server.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications.
- Experience with large software implementations.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of:
- ERP, HCM, Work order management, Asset management, reporting and analytics tools, and cloud solutions.
- Communication methods and procedures.
- Time Management processes.
- Project and workload planning and management.
Skill in:
- Organizing, completing, and reporting on projects.
- Composing clear, concise, and informative documents.
- Handling difficult situations in a tactful and professional manner.
- Analyzing complex problems, evaluating alternatives and making sound recommendations.
- Using the internet, remote communications, and other advanced tools to increase productivity and perform job functions.
