Amazon Supply Chain Program Manager, JCI in Tokyo, Japan

Description

Amazon Japan is looking for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, to join to the Supply Chain Transformation program team. As part of this transformation program, you will be driving supply chain experience improvement for retail vendors by proposing solutions to realize economic benefits from a more efficient supply chain operation between Amazon and vendor warehouses. You will also develop strategies, design and deliver projects within Amazon to realize supply chain efficiencies, drive better in-stock availability for inventory and improve return on working capital from tackling the most important opportunities in the buying, inbounding and storing inventory.

This is a highly strategic and analytical role, where no two days are the same. You will work with highly talented and driven professionals, with diverse background, experience and cultures.

Our team thrives on creativity and customer obsession. We measure success in supply chain improvements with vendor and customer experience in mind, in addition to financial impact in Amazon Free-Cashflow.

To be successful in this role, you need to be comfortable working in project environments. You need to have a strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, supported by a structured approach to program management.

Critically, the work we do is part-research and part-relationship building; you need to be excellent at building trust with stakeholders across functions, at networking the organization, and at diving deep in problems that are often new and undefined.

You will require excellent judgement in prioritizing the most important projects to improve the life of our customers, and be skilled at taking pragmatic steps towards balancing the delivery of long-term big bets and the essential near-term results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design project briefs: Working within the end-to-end Inventory Sourcing lifecycle, align Retail strategic priorities in Speed, Placement, Selection and Growth, to the projects we want to lead

  • Deep Dive research and analysis: Working within Amazon and Vendor systems, analyze large data sets and work with science, software developers and business insights teams to improve our understanding of opportunities

  • Deliver Results: lead end-to-end projects, and present results and recommendation to leadership

  • Implement: Beyond recommendation, drive the design and implementation of new solutions.

  • Contribute to overall planning and reporting mechanisms to senior leaders.

  • Own Free-Cashflow improvement targets and goals

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor required, MBA preferred, in Business, Economics, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years in strategy, consulting or similar position

  • Experience of data driven analysis, defining issues and finding opportunities for business growth

  • Experience in developing strategies and solutions for complex and ambiguity issues, considering customer needs, technologies, industry constraints, and company goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Japanese language (business level and above)

  • SQL (Basic level + )
