The Senior Technical Account Manager ( Sr. TAM ) is a customer-facing role who is a creative technical expert and problem solver with superb customer relationship skills. They are able to translate complex technical requirements into consumable action plans, create innovative, scalable solution designs, and execute software development responsibilities on time and with quality. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated ability to engage in discussions with senior level technology decision makers to establish business value, and land technical solutions. The TAM will cultivate, deepen and sustain long-term relationships with Microsoft’s key strategic customers (Fortune 500 & 100), technical decision makers, advertising sellers, and partners. The TAM will develop a deep understanding of their needs and business strategy to effectively influence and execute services / solutions aligned with demand plans and product roadmaps.

The TAM leads the design, build, and testing of solutions to challenging technical problems to enable and grow customer implementations on the Microsoft Advertising Platform. As a TAM you are an integrated member of a cross-functional, customer-facing team that comprises advertising sellers, platform engineering, business leaders, and global technical support. Your role as the trusted technical advisor requires a customer-centric focus and excellent technical knowledge, communication, and organizational and relationship management. You will share your deep and broad technical expertise of Microsoft products, identify and recommend solutions in pre-sale technical consultations with customers, and work with customers, sellers, and engineering to ensure the successful delivery and implementation of Microsoft Advertising solutions. You will collaborate with our advertising platform development engineering team, share knowledge, evangelize best practices, use your trouble-shooting skills, and be an effective advocate for our customers and partners. You will also be a member of a Global Engineering Team focused on delivering results, working collaboratively to deliver customer success, and committed to personal and team development.

As a cross-functional team member, TAMs use their comprehensive technical understanding to support pre-sale consultations, solution planning, and facilitate smooth implementations of Microsoft Advertising solutions. They actively collaborate with platform development teams, advocating for customers, upholding best practices, and contributing to our collective goal of customer satisfaction and continuous growth.

Responsibilities

Who We’re Looking For

Seeking a skilled Senior Technical Account Manager to be part of our Technical Solutions team. With outstanding skills in technology, communication, organization, and leadership, you'll join forces with sales, account management, and product engineering teams to deliver and implement MSA solutions. You'll handle technical aspects for key customers, from initial setup, feature rollouts, to continuous enhancement of tailor-made implementations. The right candidate will adeptly simplify complex technical concepts for a business audience. As a seasoned team player, mentorship to peers at Microsoft will be part of your role.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in developing or implementing B2BSaaS solutions

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant equivalent experience

  • Working knowledge of web technologies including JavaScript, HTTP, HTML, JSON, cookies/sessions, REST, SAML, etc.

  • Working experience with JavaScript, SQL, Python

  • Experience designing and improving project management process and methodology

  • 5+ years of client-facing experience

  • Track record developing relationships and building trust with senior customer stakeholders

  • Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, documentation, and communication skills

  • Organized, detail oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-motivated with strong communication and time management skills

  • Strong desire to make a difference as a leader on a small team

  • Language fluency both in Japanese and English

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software/solutions engineering, technical account management, sales engineering, integration consulting or related

  • Experience in online advertising industry; Knowledge of online advertising models (CPM, CPC, etc.) and ad operations

  • Experience with big data platforms and large volume data analytics

  • Experience with ad servers or other high volume, low latency services

  • Experience with solutions offered by Microsoft Advertising
