Amazon Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect, Media & Entertainment in Tokyo, Japan

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect (SA) who will be responsible for the technology strategy and senior level relationships with our enterprise media customers, as well as thought leadership in the Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry, with a particular focus on Broadcast, Media Supply Chain and Monetization domains.

The AWS Solutions Architect (SA) is responsible for educating customers, partners, systems integrators, and strategic consultancies on emerging technologies and solutions that are transforming the M&E, Games and Sports industries. They help with hands-on architecture for real-life customer projects involving AWS services & Independent Software Vendor (ISV)/partner solutions. The SA builds and publishes content and collateral, and presents to customers in 1:1 and 1:many settings. They work with customers remotely and in person.

Key job responsibilities

You will be a subject matter expert on industry topics related to Media and Entertainment, Games and Sports. You will anticipate future trends and identify applications of emerging technologies to reduce friction, eliminate waste, and re-invent consumer workflows. In addition you'll help drive thought leadership around Broadcast, Media Supply Chain & Monetization. You will deliver written and spoken communications to establish AWS as the public cloud of choice for media organizations looking to accelerate revenue growth and improve return on assets.

• Live event production on the AWS cloud

• Channel playout origination

• Master Control rooms

• Advertising signaling and insertion

• Distribution and monitoring

• Broadcast Headend

• Post production

• Media Archives and Asset Management

• Metadata Management

• Content QC, Localization and Preparation workflows

• Data Lakes & Data Science

• Content Monetization strategies

• Customer 360 and CDP

• Personalization

Strong verbal and written communications skills including fluent English as well as Japanese are basic requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 5+ years of experience working with content ingest, media archive, enhancement, and delivery workflows including knowledge of content production, direct-to-consumer, big data analytics, MAM, content lakes, and content metadata

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

  • Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS

    • Expert level technical acumen, including the ability to understand the customer and partner landscape, identify opportunities and overcome technical obstacles, ultimately influencing the adoption of AWS services.
    • Expert level ability to understand the business domain of the customer or partner and the business problems the customer or partner is facing, with the intent to solve the business problems.
