Amazon Sr. Program Manager, Japan and Emerging Countries, GM Field in Tokyo, Japan

Description

The Sr. Program Manager, Japan and Emerging Countries will have a multifaceted role encompassing various responsibilities. One of the primary tasks will be to standardize planning cycles across multiple countries , including 3YF (Three-Year Forecast), OP1 (Operational Plan 1), OP2 (Operational Plan 2), business reviews (QBRs) for Japan and Emerging Countries organizations. This standardization process aims to streamline multi country planning processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency removing cross team duplicated efforts.

In addition to planning cycle standardization, this role will also focus on driving improvements to our automation roadmap. As automation has become an increasingly crucial element to our operations, the Sr. Program Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the JP&EC automation strategies, ensuring they align with business objectives and technological advancements. This will mean the Sr. Program Manager will be deeply involved automating operation manifests which entails completing EDI integration with carriers and brokers to accomplish payment automation. Moreover, the Sr. Program Manager will collaborate closely with destination countries to develop mechanisms that improve Inbound Delivery Accuracy. This involves analyzing and optimizing the processes involved in the delivery selection to the respective countries, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Furthermore, the Sr. Program Manager will tackle issues related to problems received, which refers to the efficient handling and resolution of any problems or issues that arise during the receiving process into destination FC.

Ultimately, the overarching goal of the Sr. Program Manager efforts will be to automate, improve the speed and cost-effectiveness for JP&EC operations. By streamlining processes, implementing automation solutions, and enhancing delivery accuracy, the Sr. Program Manager will require a combination of strategic planning, operational expertise, and a deep understanding of automation technologies, making it a critical position for the organization's success in the Japan and Emerging Countries markets.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and implement standardized global planning cycles including Strategic Planning Sessions, Operational Planning cycles, Quarterly Business Reviews, and regular management communications.

• Lead efforts to achieve Inbound Delivery Accuracy rates for emerging countries.

• Reduce lead time and achieve Transoceanic Lead Time (TLT) for emerging countries.

• Drive initiatives to reduce destination problem receipts in the Vostok program.

• Launch accounts payable automation for US to emerging countries logistics arcs, including EDI invoice integration and manifest automation.

• Implement EDI invoice integration with primary logistics providers to enable invoice visibility and prevent duplicate payments.

Key Deliverables:

• Global strategic program plan, financial reporting, volume consolidation.

• Shared Inbound Delivery Accuracy rate goal for emerging countries.

• Lead time reduction for emerging countries.

• Reduction in Vostok destination problem receipts.

• EDI milestone, EDI invoice integration, Griffin process automation for US to emerging countries logistics.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program management, global logistics, planning and continuous improvement experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experienced in QuickSight, ETLM, Hubble and Datagrip.

  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
