Key job responsibilities

Inspired by mixing Fashion with Tech? Amazon Fashion is looking for a Product Manager (PM) to drive strategic initiatives from the tech and business angles.

At a high level, our team consists of PMs working on time-bound projects to 1) optimize/create the mechanisms underlying how we run our fashion business at Amazon and 2) improve how our customers shop fashion on Amazon. Our team members do so by devising scalable solutions and features that leverage tech, automation and centralized ops teams. The team works hand-in-hand with the 4 category teams (i.e., Apparel, Shoes, and Watches & Jewelry) and reports directly to the VP of Amazon Fashion in Tokyo.

The scope of work is purposely wide and evolves as a function of the candidate's strengths/interests as well as the needs of the team. We are recruiting talented, well-rounded individuals who are looking to stretch themselves until they understand all facets of running an online business. For instance, you could be driving a program on Catalog Quality while launching a customer-facing feature enhancing product discovery one day, and learn the ropes of Inventory Optimization while preparing the overhaul of our Promotion Strategy a few months later.

The role requires above all a hunger to learn, an ability to unblock yourself, and a data-driven mindset. Together with your team members, you will define internal-facing and external-facing problems, evaluate the possible solutions, and execute on programs that deliver impact on the larger team's effectiveness and/or the customer experience. Defining your path will require you to dive deep into data, keep apace with the work of our partner teams, and leverage a range of automated and semi-automated solutions. Your ability to navigate ambiguity and partner with decentralized teams spread across the world will be one of your strongest asset. Your team will also work with an embedded team of software developers that develop solutions tailored to the Japanese market's needs.

As a PM in our team, a typical day might include:

• Piece together different data sets from the data warehouse and extract insights that inform your project's path forward

• Draft a data-backed proposal to start a new initiative that will improve our customer experience

• Produce a project update report highlighting what works, what doesn't and associated corrective actions

• Define customer and/or business requirements that will serve as the basis for software development

• Run a monthly business review with senior Amazon leaders that will produce the action items you need for your projects to move forward

• Serve as subject matter expert and answer questions from senior leadership in Japan

• Ingest new roadmap and project update documents coming from your partner teams

• Sync up via video conference because you detected an opportunity to collaborate with a new team

業務範囲はあえて広く設定しており、候補者の強みや関心と、チームのニーズに合わせて担当する業務は変わります。オンラインビジネスのあらゆる面を理解しようとする意欲を持った方を求めています。たとえば、プロダクトディスカバリーを強化した顧客向け機能のリリースを行いながら、商品情報の品質に関するプログラムをハンドリングする日もあれば、数か月後に実施するプロモーション戦略準備のための分析調査をしながら在庫最適化のコツを学ぶといった業務を行っていただきます。

この職種で何より求められるのは、学ぼうとする強い意欲、限界に挑戦する能力、そしてデータ重視のマインドセットです。チームメンバーと協力して、内部的、外部的な問題を明らかにし、考えられる解決策を査定し、Amazon Fashionのチームにとって有効的で顧客体験により良いインパクトを与えられるプログラムを遂行します。業務を適切に進めるにあたり、データの詳細な分析や、パートナーチームと協力した連携、必要に応じて半自動化や自動化したソリューションの活用が必要となります。あいまいさに対処したり、世界各国に分散したチームと連携できる力が、求められる最大の能力です。また、このチームは、日本市場のニーズに合わせたソリューションを開発するソフトウェア開発者チームと連携もしていただきます。

チームのPMとしての日常業務は次のとおりです。

• データウェアハウスからのさまざまなデータセットをつなぎ合わせ、プロジェクトの今後に役立つインサイトを得る

• 顧客体験を向上させる新たなイニシアチブに着手するための、データを基にした提案の作成

• うまく行ったこと、行かなかったこと、それらに関して取ったアクション措置に重点を置いたプロジェクトアップデートレポートの作成

• ソフトウェア開発の基になるお客様やビジネスの要件の定義づけ

• Amazonのシニアリーダーと月次のビジネスレビューを行い、プロジェクトを進めるために必要なアクションアイテムの策定

• 担当分野における社内専門家（SME）として、日本のシニアリーダーからの質問に答える

• パートナーチームから入手した新しいロードマップやプロダクトアップデートドキュメントの把握

• 新たなチームとコラボレーションする機会を見出したら、ビデオ会議で認識合わせを行う

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

• Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

• Experience with end to end product delivery

• Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

• Experience as a product manager or owner

• Experience owning technology products

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

• Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
