Stanley Black and Decker Senior Manager Finance in Tokyo, Japan

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning processes, including setting targets, communicating assumptions, coordinating budget preparation, challenging

  • submissions, and seeking synergies upon consolidation

  • Support the General Manager in the preparation of annual budgets, management and cost reports and management.

  • Work with the Operations team to review and manage factory operating costs and productivity projects

  • Translate business strategy into financial targets and tactical plans and support execution in a controlled risk and reward based manner

  • Interpret and make effective management decisions using benchmarking, trends, and other planning and forecasting methods;develop and implement improvements to the planning processes

  • Measure and drive customer profitability through Pricing Actions and 80 20 exercises

  • Oversee and take necessary action for understanding and adherence to various DOA and compliance requirements

  • Champion various companywide programs such as inventory reduction, cost reduction, cash flow management etc.

  • Present financial statements and analysis to executive management and provide recommendations for improvements

Key Requirement

  • Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting is required. CPA/MBA/ ACCA is preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of working experience with at least 3 years in a managerial position in a manufacturing environment.

  • Good knowledge of local government and customs laws and regulations, accounting system, taxation, especially in manufacturing accounts;

  • Proficient knowledge in excel, PPT and financial systems (ERP, Hyperion etc).

  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English and Japanese

  • Performs work with a high level of integrity and trust

  • Mature, pro-active, strong leadership, with analytical mind and strong business sense.
