Excited by mixing Fashion with Tech? Amazon Fashion is seeking a highly analytical and customer-obsessed Senior Data Scientist to join the Softlines Insights team in Japan. As a key member of the team, you will be a strategic data partner to our Fashion category teams, driving data-driven innovation to optimize our fashion business operations and enhance the customer shopping experience on Amazon.
In this role, you will leverage a range of diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics techniques to uncover insights and opportunities for improvement across our fashion business. Key responsibilities include:
Conducting in-depth data analysis to identify process efficiencies, system enhancements, and new capabilities to drive better business outcomes for Amazon Fashion. This could involve areas like inventory management, pricing, customer behavior, and more.
Developing advanced predictive models across areas like inventory management, pricing, customer behavior, and more.
Collaborating cross-functionally with business, technology, and analytics teams worldwide to translate analytical insights into scalable solutions.
Staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in data science and machine learning, and identifying opportunities to apply new techniques to solve complex business challenges.
The ideal candidate is a passionate data strategist with deep technical expertise. You should have:
8+ years of experience as a data scientist or in a similar analytical role, with a proven track record of driving business impact.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and machine learning frameworks like Python, Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-Learn, etc.
Strong statistical and modeling skills, with the ability to design and interpret experiments, as well as apply predictive analytics.
The curiosity and flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively share insights with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Business-level English proficiency, both written and verbal.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
4+ years of data scientist experience
Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience
Experience managing data pipelines
Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
