Microsoft is looking for a Global Account Technology Strategist(GATS) for one of our Global & Strategic accounts within the Industrial and Manufacturing industry. In this role, you will create and lead strategies with technology point of view for this high-profile account to yield high-volume sales and open new opportunities.

The GATS will have a broad and deep understanding of the Industrial and Manufacturing industry to identify opportunities to drive optimizations and new workloads based on the customer's strategy. The GATS needs to understand the drivers of business and technology transformation and leverage their deep knowledge to engage internal teams to accelerate co-innovation and digital transformation and strategy. Further, knowledge of and experience with Microsoft's product landscape, solutions, and strategy will be critical to generate insights, provide thought leadership, and address the client's needs and translate them into Microsoft solutions.

Responsibilities

The GATS is at the forefront of our digital transformation efforts for our industry focused enterprise customers. GATS works exclusively to dissect the industry of a specific customer, map industry scenarios to the technical foundation, understand and translate the customer priorities and desired outcomes, and orchestrate resources in the customer’s digital journey. GATS’s technical acumen and industry expertise enables the customer to do business in new disruptive ways. GATS drives the adoption of Microsoft Azure Cloud, Modern Workplace solutions and Microsoft Business Applications such as Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. GATS is the owner of the CIO/CTO relationship, and a dedicated virtual CTO.

We are looking for you to demonstrate deep expertise in our customer’s business, knowledge of the markets in which customer operates, and Microsoft’s capability to help the customer drive their digital transformation. The broad scope of responsibility of this role requires a solid understanding of both business and technology strategy, change management and a principled approach to broad digital transformation challenges and opportunities. You may also share a common set of characteristics, such as strong leadership and people skills, and bring the experience that drives innovation and customer value.

You will be focused on the following priorities:

• Own, manage and develop the technical business relationships with the technology influencers/decision makers of the customers

• Lead the translation of the customer’s desired business outcomes into technical architecture

• Lead the technical delivery by motivating and inspiring all technical resources involved in delivering the customer’s desired outcome.

• Digital Transformation - disrupting the mindset of customers and sales teams by bringing innovative ideas that showcase Microsoft’s unique value proposition ​

• Inspirational Leadership - orchestrating technical teams in order to help solidify the path to the complex, yet exciting journey. Beyond orchestration, you will display the ability to rely on the help of others and ensure there is an interest to engage ​

• Technical Architecture Leadership - leading the design of technical architectures in the IT industry ​

• Technical Sales Leadership - differentiating yourself by having a strong focus on both technology and industry ​

• Executive Presence - owning relationships with technology executives - CDO/CIO/CTO/CISO and members of their office and influencing relationships with CEO/CFO/COO

Qualifications

Experiences Required: Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:

• Technical leadership: 5+ years of related experience in technical sales leadership roles or consulting role, managing high performance technical sales teams, coaching solution sales and account development strategies, leadership roles in multi-tiered global organizations, selling and delivering complex solutions to enterprise customers.

• Digital Transformation: Disrupting the mindset of customers and sales teams by bringing innovative ideas that showcase Microsoft’s unique value proposition. Proven track record and experience leading organizational transformations while delivering on long and short term results

• Cloud and AI sales: Strategic leadership with track record driving results faster than competition in new markets/solution areas, preferably cloud services growth and consumption/usage based selling

• Growth mindset: Eagerness to learn and grow oneself while adapting to changes

• Team spirit: Embody “we-before-me” mindset

• Soft skills: Strong leadership & interpersonal skills, cross-group collaboration and proven ability to influence across organizational boundaries

• Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience

• Both Japanese and English language proficiencies are required.
