Amazon Digital Program Manager, Prime Video Japan in Tokyo, Japan

Description

We are searching for a Digital Program Manager in our Localization Operations team, who can hold a leadership position in building strategic partnership with third-party providers, ops, program and product teams, be passionate about processes and innovation, and navigate a complex environment with both business and technical aspects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders, including global cross-functional teams within Amazon, external executive teams, and technical teams from both sides. The successful candidate will need to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment. Key job responsibilities

• Manage international localization projects end-to-end, working closely with internal business partners, external vendors and other stakeholders

• Lead and coordinate efforts to create and improve localization mechanisms that support content publishing

• Maintain and improve the language quality program and/or operations for the team

• Work with strategy owners, and infrastructure teams to define and streamline processes upstream and drive best practices for the internationalization of content

• Clearly communicate roadmaps, progress, risks and change control to leadership and internal cross-functional teams

• Write, edit, review and maintain localization process documentation and training

• Be the liaison between Tech, Operations and our third-party localization providers to develop solutions focused on efficiency and quality asset creation.

• Own and support global cross-team coordination, project management, and be able to swiftly prioritize and multi task based on severity level and strong business judgement

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with large global organizations as a Program Manager, Product Manager, Digital Supply Chain Manager, or similar role

  • 5+ years of experience using MS Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables, use VLookups, and charts

  • 3+ years of communicating program/project status to executive-level leadership

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of equivalent professional experience

  • Native and equivalent level Japanese

  • Fluency in speaking, listening, reading and writing English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in localization operations

  • Experience in the Digital Supply Chain, Program Management or Product Management with large global organizations

  • Experience learning unfamiliar systems and tools and quickly developing expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and marketing/business counterparts to deliver online products/services

  • Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them (verbal/written) to the stakeholders and executives as required

  • Advanced skills and experience with Excel and Access, including standard formulas and data visualization

  • Ability to understand customers and their behavior in order to drive new feature development

  • Must be able to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing and competing priorities

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including strong writing and speaking skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

  • Strong attention to detail, end-to-end ownership, and driving results

  • Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or imperfect data

  • Master’s degree
