Consultant, Energy Consulting – Tokyo

Job Summary

Today's global energy landscape is interconnected and dynamic. Energy Consulting from S&P Global Commodity Insights comprise some of the most extensive information, analytics, insight, and advisory services in the world. Our Energy Consulting team is ready to partner with global industry leaders and face the historic challenges in the energy transition.

S&P Global is seeking a consultant to support its growing Energy Consulting business in Tokyo, Japan. The successful candidate will have the opportunities to work with a dynamic global team of experts with wide-ranging background in the energy industry. This role will help drive the expansion of our consulting practice in Japan and Asia Pacific by working with a team of colleagues and contribute significantly to the analysis undertaken.

What you will do

• Conduct primary and secondary research on market, competitors, and customers

• Perform timely and rigorous analysis and present findings to the project team and client stakeholders

• Collaborate in project teams consists of in-house experts with diverse backgrounds

• Work across various industry segments and topics / work on multiple projects concurrently

• Contribute to market development efforts with impromptu research for proposal

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree, science and engineering preferred; an advanced degree such as an MBA is a plus

• About 5 years of work experience at an oil and gas, power, or chemicals company

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese (native level) and English (advanced level)

• Entrepreneurial, self-starter with a natural desire to accept challenging and diverse assignments

• Proficiency with MS applications required and familiarity with GIS preferred
