JOB SUMMARY [Create and/or review engineering packages prior to release for production. Utilize computer skills to assist with the organization of engineering data. Learn and use SolidWorks to create engineering packages. Possess cognitive abilities in preparing shop drawings from customer specifications, provide documentation to manufacturing, troubleshoot production processes by improving products and efficiencies. Must be able to communicate product requirements through effective part and assembly drawings. Use calipers and other measuring devices, as well as, basic computer word processing and excel spreadsheets.

1. Update existing drawings and bill of materials as required.
2. Assist in investigating and resolving customer non-conformance issues.
3. Assist in investigating and resolving production issues.
4. Strong problem-solving skills.
5. Design new parts and translate customer requirements into SolidWorks
6. A creative approach for generating new ideas.
7. An understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication methods.
8. Good team working skills.
9. An appreciation of business demands.
10. An awareness of the environmental impact of design ideas.

PERIPHERAL DUTIES

1. Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
2. Work closely with Manufacturing to ensure lowest cost designs are achieved.
3. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
2. AutoCAD, 3D CAD and SolidWorks experience a plus.
3. Proficient with sheet metal manufacturing design.

WORKING CONDITIONS [Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to but not limited to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts. Maintain a safe and clean work area.
