Hilton Manager, Supply Management - Japan, Korea and Micronesia (based in Tokyo) in To, Japan

[NOTE] this position requires native Japanese and business level English proficiency. / This position is available for both experienced / inexperienced in Procurement if you have hotel industry experience.

Recognized hotel / procurement expert who is able to develop, plan, implement, and maintain leading edge sourcing strategy and supply base for all operational product categories within the Hilton JKM region.Primarily responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies and directions to leverage relationships at hotel levels and or across region to achieve best total value of ownership.

Develop, decide and execute category/commodity management strategies, supplier relationship management, negotiation, risk management and supply base performance management. Plays lead role for negotiations, contracts, partnerships, and service levels while accomplishing cost saving targets, required quality, service levels and heavy interface with stakeholders and senior management.

What will I be doing?

As the Manager, Supply Management – Japan, Korea and Micronesia (based in Tokyo), you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure established level of quality products and services are procured at the best value while adhering to Hilton Worldwide standards and operating procedures, operational need / specifications, procurement best practices, and working with the Global, Regional and Hotel Supply Management team to achieve the objectives.
  • Work with, and represent the procurement function to the regional/area team.
  • Provide functional and operational support to any corporate or cluster procurement teams and, as required, to hotel-based procurement resources across the region/area.
  • Ensure all information are well maintained in the procurement platforms (such as MBT Check and SmartSpend).

Regional / Area Sourcing:

  • Execute annual spend / saving analysis and propose procurement projects for the area.
  • Communicate with Directors of Finance and Operations at JKM hotels.
  • Develop new programs and/or renegotiate existing programs and distribution channels with suppliers and/or manufacturers, utilize cross-functional teams whenever applicable.
  • Manage and implement local, regional, area and centrally led procurement programs ensuring these programs have a sound legal, financial, logistical and ESG set-up.
  • Ensure understanding and availability of brand standards of the brands present in the area.
  • Effectively drive manage projects in a structured and organized fashion

Operational Procurement:

  • Ensure service levels related to the procurement agreements and scope of work’s are in place
  • Research departmental inquiries on product availability, pricing, specifications, and product usage requirements and/or recommendations.
  • Communicate on a regular basis the above information to hotel procurement team members and other hotel departments, as required.
  • Support all hotel pre-openings as required to ensure that Brand standards are met and that hotels participate in Supply Management programs.

Administrations:

  • Manage supplier contracts and product data, inclusive of catalogue content, product specifications and descriptions, pricing and file retention. Approve all changes to existing contracted items, new and/or deleted items.
  • Update JKM regional Savings, Spend Management, Deal Register (supply management program) quarterly.
  • Maintain supplier files and databases.

·Strong problem solving skills among hotel procurement team members and other team members as appropriate.

·Ability to work with peers and other resources to provide development and mentoring procurement opportunities.

·Ability to evaluate and identify opportunities, including ability to develop, prioritize and implement plans to meet organization’s core strategic goals.

·Ability to assimilate new concepts and practices into position and the department and provide effective training to subordinates for on-the-job training, policies and procedures, departmental training topics and professional development.

·Knowledge of business mathematics and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel

·Ability to work independently and manage the independent work of other team members as appropriate; includes the ability to recognize need for involvement of other teams/peers and capability to effectively facilitate that collaboration.

Required

·Bachelor degree or significant work experience strongly preferred

· 5 years of procurement or hotel industry experience

·Basic knowledge or experience in using eProcurement system

·Analytical skills; Proficiency in Excel

·Strong project management skills

·Ability to speak and write both Japanese and English is a must

Preferred

·Advanced degree preferred

·Eight (8) years of hospitality industry experience preferred

·In-depth knowledge of supplier contract negotiation

·Experience in developing and executing multi-million dollar contract

·Experience managing the Procurement Systems
