Job Description
The location of this position will be determined based on the selected candidate.
This position may be eligible for part time remote work.
Resource Analyst 9-P11
Conduct analysis of human dimensions as it relates to the inter-departmental aquatic and terrestrial invasive species program. Assist with and complete projects that evaluate stakeholder values, opinions, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors related to invasive species prevention and management in Michigan. Collaborate with staff in the Michigan Quality of Life agencies, including Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development; Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy; and Natural Resources to develop new projects. Assist with addressing knowledge gaps related to the effectiveness of outreach efforts across multiple statewide efforts. Provide a scientific basis to aid efforts to engage partners and diverse stakeholders and characterize economic and sociocultural values. Work with Program staff to improve the effectiveness of aquatic and terrestrial invasive species outreach and improve stakeholder relationships.

Resource Analyst 12
Serves as the recognized resource for human dimensions analyses for the inter-departmental aquatic and terrestrial invasive species program. Identify, develop, and lead projects that evaluate stakeholder values, opinions, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors related to invasive species prevention and management in Michigan. Responsible for coordinating with staff in the Michigan Quality of Life agencies, including Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development; Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy; and Natural Resources to address programmatic needs. Address knowledge gaps related to the effectiveness of outreach efforts across multiple statewide efforts. Provide a scientific basis to aid efforts to engage partners and diverse stakeholders and characterize economic and sociocultural values. Cultivate public interest and awareness of aquatic and terrestrial invasive species issues and improve stakeholder relationships. Serve on professional committees and work groups in area of expertise at state, national, and international levels. As much of our research is conducted with university partners, duties also include coordination with universities to compliment research efforts.

Required Education and Experience

Possession of a bachelor's degree in a physical, biological, or natural resource science, resource management, resource planning, engineering, or a related field.

Three years of professional experience in the protection, development and maintenance of land, water, or natural resources, including one year equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
