Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years ofexperience as an electrical/cable fabrication technician or other relevant industry experience.
  • Experience working with panel, wiring, and mechanical installs.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, wire diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with theMicrosoft Office Suite/365 including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with avionics/panel manufacturing and operation of related test equipment.
  • Proficiency in harsh environment tests andassembly procedures.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC/ WHMA-A-620, MIL-DTL-22520, NASA-STD-8739, J-STD-001, and ANSI/ESD S20.20.
  • Experience using measurement tools and understandbasic math concepts.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Further technical training or industry certification.
  • 5 or moreyears in a manufacturing role in aerospace or similar industry, with a focus on rack or panel fabrication.
  • Experience as a "hands-on" technical leader.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
  • Background in electromechanical systems and electrical/mechanical assembly.
  • IPC J-SST-001, IPC-620, and/orNASA space addendum 8739.4 certified.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problems that may arise.

Cimarron is seeking experienced Senior Panel Technicians

to support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The selected candidates will be responsible forfabricating, inspecting, and testing Ground Safety Equipment assemblies and panels/racks integral to various spaceflight systems.

This position would begin in a shop environment on either the Space Coast or Western Florida and transition into the field at the Kennedy Space Center.

Although these positions support a 6-month contract, they are full-time/benefited (i.e., PTO, 401(k), insurance) positions with Cimarron.

Key Duties:

  • Install avionic components and systems, ensuring operational reliability and adherence to design specifications.
  • Read instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists, to determine the materials needed and the sequence of assembly.
  • Mount and install components, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), relays, contactors, switches, and terminal blocks in panel enclosures.
  • Assemblecables, buses, and electromechanical systems.
  • Measure, cut, solder, and/or crimpwire and contacts to fabricate wire harnesses.
  • Conduct detailed installations, including intricate cable harness configurations, ensuring all avionic installations meet safety and quality standards.
  • Inspect, test, and verify avionics assemblies against technical models, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot panel system issues, carrying out necessary modifications, rework, repairs, or maintenance to resolve malfunctions.
  • Ensure the optimal function of GSE systems by conducting thorough inspections, cleanings, measurements, and testing activities.
  • Understand and adhere to quality management systems standards, requirements, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with teams to perform in-field harness installations.
  • Leadcontinuous improvement efforts in avionic installation processes, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency.
