Due to the expansion of our R&D department, we are seeking a System Engineer to join our team for 32-38 hours per week .

What you would do as System Engineer

You will work on the development and technical coordination of a variety of new and exciting products which include a combination of complex mechanics, electronics and firmware. As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, industrialization, and testing of new products. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our products meet high industry standards of quality. You will report directly to the R&D Manager.

Your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and technically coordinate (including design, testing, industrialization, and certification) new products and product features based on customer needs/feedback, industry standards, and business objectives

  • Coordinate team of development engineers from product requirements up to the start of production

  • Provide leadership by working collaboratively, sharing ideas, and identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Coordinate engineering teams to clarify work packages, manage trade-off studies, and resolve engineering issues

  • Analyse customer and product feedback, and incorporate suggestions and improvements into product designs

  • Work closely with product managers, manufacturers, quality and other engineers in developing effective product specifications

  • Develop and maintain accurate, comprehensive product documentation and engineering files

  • Implement product testing and validation plans

  • Coordinate/assist industrialization phase of the product development

  • Be the point of contact for technical support questions for internal and external parties

  • Provide input on cost, development schedule, and other important considerations

  • Plan and manage project schedules

  • Utilize Jira for project tracking and Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing

  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects related to the development process, quality, efficiency, safety, and environmental initiatives

    The skills and experience you need

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related field

  • Good understanding of electro mechanical product structures and interaction between mechanics, electronics and FW

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Strong understanding of cost, quality, and product performance

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Fluent in spoken and written English; Knowledge of Dutch is a plus

  • Good problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to prioritize own time and workload

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

  • Have high-level of creativity, initiative, pragmatism and persuasiveness

  • Have affinity with project management

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated, works independently with minimal day to day supervision

  • Proficiency in using Jira for project tracking and Confluence for documentation

  • Must have own transportation within a reachable distance from Tilburg
