Job Description

Our global Product Integrity Analysis (PIA) labs provide key analytical support to IFF enterprise risk management programs on ingredient and contaminant monitoring, as well as customer requirement and compliance testing. For our Tilburg PIA team, we are seeking a highly motivated Analytical Chemist who combines routine lab workbench experiments and defined technical projects on method deployments, enhanced quality or efficiency performance.

In this senior role, you will collaborate in a small team and perform analytical evaluation of raw materials, intermediates and finished products through modern chromatographic methods (GC, LC, ICP), assessing validity of results and equipment following the laboratory’s Quality Management System. You determine root cause, corrective and preventive actions in case of nonconformances. You will act as functional and technical representative in the area of method or specialization, and provides consultation to colleagues and manager. The position is laboratory anchored.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily analyses, utilizing and maintaining sophisticated analytical equipment (TQ)GC-MS, (TQ)LC-MS and ICP-MS; timely reporting of results

  • Make risk analysis and usage decisions of nonconformances

  • Provide technical oversight and representation to internal stakeholders and customers

  • Lead and execute method enhancement and validation plans; facilitate implementation of newly (R&D) developed methods

  • Planning and prioritization of work, managing work independently

  • Complete appropriate documentation of work, including technical reports

Job Requirements

  • A minimum BSc in chemistry, preferred analytical chemistry or equivalent

  • 5+ years experience in the field of GC-MS, LC-MS and/or ICP-MS, including in-depth understanding and ability to maintain the equipment ensuring trouble-free operation

  • Dutch and English fluency to interact with direct colleagues and other IFF affiliate sites

  • Knowledge of ISO standards, regulatory affairs and critical control points

  • Conceptual thinking, initiative beyond the scope of a project/task

  • Open to discussion; proactivity towards technical solutions for continuous improvement

  • Proficient in all computer systems such as Outlook, Excel, Word, LIMS and SAP

  • Ability to work under pressure, while prioritizing objectives in response to rapidly changing work assignments
