National Machinery Maintenance and Facilities Manager in Tiffin, Ohio

 

 

 

MANAGER, MAINTENANCE & FACILITIES

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Oversees the daily activities of maintenance personnel involved in the support and maintenance of machining, fabrication, and assembly equipment of National Machinery. 

 

Oversees the daily activities of facilities personnel involved in the maintenance and projects of National Machinery's facilities including all buildings, grounds, cranes, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical systems.

 

Monitors progress of assigned work. Responsible for the safety, performance, and quality of the assigned area(s). Plans daily assignments and trains new employees.  Responsibility to fill open positions, participate in interview and selection process, completes performance evaluations, and administers company policies within assigned area(s).

 

DUTIES

 

• Coordinate tasks and objectives with all Facilities & Maintenance personnel to provide timely and effective maintenance and repairs of machine tools and to satisfy facility needs

• Monitor Maintenance and Facilities work instructions and policies, improving them as needed to ensure they support high-quality, efficient, and responsive internal customer support

• Plan, create and present facility and maintenance Capex

• Responsible for departmental budgets related to labor and expenses 

• Coordinate work required to satisfy all plant safety and environmental compliance initiatives, and maintain the plant SDS system

• Lead the planning and coordinating of activities related to infrastructure, equipment or facility projects

• Maintain equipment and facility layouts

• Plan and facilitate contractors for all related work for National Machinery construction projects

  1. Involvement in bid and contract evaluation for outside contractors and suppliers and act as liaison between all involved parties.
  2. Ensure building codes, safety standards and environmental regulations are strictly enforced and adhered to

• Continually improve the maintenance systems with a focus on machine downtime, resource planning, and costs

• Other duties as assigned 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Industrial Engineering or related field and/or 5+ years of experience in a management role within a Manufacturing Facility

• Must be flexible to occasionally work longer hours to satisfy customer demands and deadlines

• Excellent organizational skills

• Strong analytical / problem solving skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and able to present and communicate at all levels of the organization

• Familiar with Windows programs and Microsoft Office tools

• Candidates should have functional or working knowledge of the following areas:

• Industrial / commercial construction

• Telephone, network, and facility electrical systems

• HVAC and other types of refrigeration equipment

• Troubleshoot and repair various types of machine tools including mills, lathes, machining centers as well as cranes and other facility equipment

• Troubleshooting and repair of equipment issues related to electrical, PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, machine tool controls, motors and drives

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Use of ERP software

• Use of maintenance / facility scheduling and MRO invent
