Abbott Procurement Manager - Abbott Healthcare in Thuan An, Vietnam

SUMMARY

This role plays a leadership role for the Abbott Healthcare Vietnam organization reporting to the Site Director. The candidate is responsible of the Procurement department.

He / She ensures effective planning operations within SAP/APO environment (or appropriate planning systems), efficiency in warehousing activities and managing costs and designed budget to secure the right procurement strategy for Abbott Healthcare Vietnam Site.

  • To supervise/manage the efficient Procurement Processes in compliance with Procurement policies

  • To coordinate and communicate with cross functions team both local and regional (Ops, RA, QA, Commercial, Finance, Market Assess, sourcing plant) in term of product availability or discontinuity.

  • To analyses the inventory projection and lead/work with cross function for maintaining the healthy inventory.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of the critical supplier relationships in alignment with global category managers

  • Ensure the sourcing strategies defined by the Category Managers at Global level are implemented and executed at the plant level

  • Negotiate and develop commercial agreements with suppliers

  • Cooperate with all departments / stakeholders (Logistic, Planning & Production, QA, Engineering)

  • Manage Direct Material and Indirect material spend ensuring value is optimized

  • Lead Savings projects related to Raw Materials, Packaging Materials

  • Management of day to day purchasing activities for all Direct Material and indirect spend categories affecting the site/location

  • Facilitate development, communication, and successful deployment of global and regional sourcing strategies

  • Generate PPV (Purchase Price Variance) saving

  • Preparing budget plan and controlling the execution

  • Responsible to drive compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.

  • Training, following up and checking the compliance of the staffs

  • Drive innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels

Strategy

  • Provides advice/direction in primary areas of expertise.

  • Communicate and educate appropriate departments to provide appropriate supporting documentation for purchases.

  • Finding PPV and M&P Opportunities

  • Work with cross-functional teams (R&D/Fin/Quality/Regulatory) to lead the project

  • Escalation of challenges with Network to support on challenging situation (Supply delay, Price Increase etc).

  • Establish the connect with Global Direct Procurement and APAC Regional Procurement to share Risk & Opportunities with Finance related to RM Procurement

Relationship Management

  • Develop and leads agreed purchasing strategies for category

  • Seek, develop, and establish business relationships with diverse suppliers

  • Meet regularly with divisional customers and lead functions to ensure superior customer satisfaction and continuous improvement for efficiencies.

  • Responsible for performance management of all supportive personnel (non-exempts)

Leading People

  • Responsible for leading and mentoring Associate Specialist and Specialist procurement personnel. Provides guidance and training to Specialist.

  • Understand and apply cultural awareness with foreign business entities

  • Drive and grow strong effective business relationships with suppliers, clients and customers.

  • Assigning, supervising the report to Finance, QA, RA.

MINIMUM BACKGROUND/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 4-17 years of relevant experience preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Good communication skills and an ability to work-cross functionally in an international environment.

  • Experience with inventory management. Experience with cost saving projects/programs is preferred.

  • Both an ability to see the big picture and an attention to detail.

  • Uses good judgment to make sound decisions.

  • Proficient in verbal and written communication in Vietnamese and English

  • Expert in Microsoft Office, especially excel.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in any major.

  • Supply Chain Management/ Pharmaceutical/ Business Administration/ Finance is a plus.
