Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager of International , and in collaboration with the Canadian and U.S. sales organization, the selected candidate will be responsible to ensure the overall coordination, management and leadership of all the sales activities of our Canadian C&I Sales team and Acuity’s Canadian agency network. The candidate will also be responsible for developing, managing, guiding, proposing, and executing strategies to achieve maximum sales volume for our products and services as well as designing and applying the sales strategy and sales plan.

The Regional Vice President of C&I Sales, Canada will have responsibility to lead the Canadian sales team consisting of Canadian Specification and Distribution sales team, as well as the National Account sellers (a team of ten, four direct and six indirect). He/she will also have the responsibility for developing and growing the C&I sales channel by effectively leading our Canadian agency network, ensuring they have the tools and strategies to execute and attain sales plans, and improving upon out market-leading position.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the sales strategy which capitalizes on the strength of the product portfolio, the Canadian sales force and the Canadian agency network)

  • Establishes market and target customer strategies in conjunction with Sales Leadership team.

  • Maintain key customer relationships, develop and implement strategies for increasing penetration within our addressable market.

  • Lead, develop, inspire and motivate the sales and agency teams to achieve sales goals and initiatives.

  • Manage the overall sales process, setting appropriate metrics for sales pipeline management. Utilize available enterprise tools to improve processes and increase sales force effectiveness.

  • Oversees the recruiting, hiring and development of the sales organization.

  • Implement through the network, the companies promotions and marketing initiatives to achieve goals for the Canadian distribution network.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Successful track record of performance, effective sales leadership and motivator with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • 10 years of experience in the lighting/electrical industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or related fields.

  • Experience using CRM tools such as SalesForce.com

  • Willingness and ability to challenge status quo with a bias towards action. Thoroughly analyze problems, making and defending decisions that are well supported by data.

  • High level of energy and commitment

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced matrix environment.

  • Experience developing effective relationships with a variety of channel partners including; end users, the specification community, as well as electrical wholesaler and contractors.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel requirement will vary from 30 – 60%
