WSP USA Instrumentation and Control Engineer - Municipal Infrastructure in Thornhill, Ontario

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with a senior engineers and designers to develop and implement instrumentation and control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer or EIT to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment while contributing to projects that promote sustainability and public health.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Develop drawings, specifications, control narratives, attend design meetings, and site visits around the GTA etc.

  • Review client standards and ensure compliance in our design.

  • Attend review meetings with the cross-functional team internally and with the client.

  • Review shop drawings and provide engineering assistance during construction.

  • Support field testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as needed.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in I&C engineering.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • Strong academic background with coursework or experience in instrumentation, control systems, and water/wastewater treatment processes.

  • Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and PLC programming software.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Excel macros and data manipulation.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Eager to learn and grow in a challenging and rewarding work environment.

  • Motivated self starter willing to push the status quo seeking efficiencies and automation.

  • Experience with various programming languages such as Python, VBA, .Net is an asset.
