The Human Resources Generalist supports the Employee Relations (ER) and HR Business Partners (HRBP) functions in the administration of human resources guidelines, policies, and procedures, as well as employee relations matters. The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is mainly responsible for applying HR policies, procedures, as well as employee relations in their function. The HR Generalist supports employees and managers by responding to HR inquiries and supports the ER Manager with employee relations escalations and/or investigations of mid-level severity.

Key Responsibilities: · Facilitates proper employee documentation and records maintenance in HR systems, compiling reports as needed. Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employees’ concerns. · Develops, implements, reinforces, and modifies HR policies, programs, and procedures. · Audits HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices and recommends improvements. · Provides advice and assistance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures. · Resolves HR inquiries or escalates them to the appropriate individual depending on severity.

Competencies Required: · Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. · Working knowledge of employee relations, federal and state laws /regulations (including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, ADAAA, ADEA and FMLA). · Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with objectivity, candor, and confidence. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to navigate human resources software applications (i.e., UltiPro, Taleo, Kronos) and related websites. · Conflict resolution negotiations. · Demonstrated time/organizational management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. · Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. · Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience: · Minimum 3 years’ professional Human Resources experience required, including at least 1 year of employee relations experience, OR · Minimum 3 years’ Woodforest National Bank Branch Manager experience with Human Resources course work or HR Certification required.

Formal Education & Certification: · Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Organizational Development, Accounting, or related field preferred. · Professional HR certification preferred.

Work Status: · Full-Time.

Supervisory Responsibility: · None.

Travel: · 10% travel expected.

Working Conditions: · Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc. · Normal HR activities may require working outside of standard business hours (9:00am-5:00pm).
