Robert Half BI Developer in the Woodlands, Texas
Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a BI Developer in the Oil & Gas - Exploration & Production industry, located in The Woodlands, Texas. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills, who will be responsible for developing multiple dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and enhancing critical business processes.
Key responsibilities:
• Create visually appealing dashboards and reports to provide data-driven insights to support business decisions.
• Extract and combine data from SQL databases and other sources to create a comprehensive data model.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and identify opportunities for data-driven insights.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for all projects.
• Conduct unit testing, share results and implement optimized queries to improve dashboard load times.
• Apply best practices throughout the development lifecycle to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Review peer code to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to achieve project goals.
• Use your expertise in Microsoft Power BI, DAX technologies, data visualization and data analysis to maximize the impact of your work. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI for creating interactive reports and dashboards.
• Demonstrated expertise in using Dax Technologies for data manipulation and analysis.
• Proven experience in Data Visualization, with the ability to present complex data in an understandable, compelling format.
• Strong skills in Data Analysis, with the capability to interpret trends and patterns from data sets.
• Background in the Oil & Gas - Explor & Prod industry, with an understanding of industry-specific data and reporting needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as independently when required.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a knack for finding efficient solutions to data-related challenges.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts in a clear, understandable manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, demonstrating excellent time-management skills.
• Detail-oriented, with a focus on delivering accurate, high-quality work.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
