Robert Half Associate General Counsel in the Woodlands, Texas

Description We are seeking an Associate General Counsel to join our team in the construction industry, based in The Woodlands, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support throughout the lifecycle of projects. Your tasks will include drafting and negotiating various contracts, managing legal disputes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory matters and internal policies.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive legal support for projects from inception through final acceptance

• Draft and negotiate a variety of renewable energy project-related contracts such as EPC agreements, subcontractor and supplier agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, and leases

• Manage legal disputes between project owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and third parties

• Undertake general corporate housekeeping tasks such as preparing resolutions, filings, and other required documentation

• Provide legal advice to ensure compliance with regulatory matters and internal policies

• Maintain relationships with external advisers

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action where necessary

• Handle other unlisted duties as required. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of law, preferably within the construction/contracting industry.

• Proficiency in using 3M, Adobe Acrobat, and ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode.

• Familiarity with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) is required.

• Experience in using Case Management Software is a must.

• Must possess skills in appellate law, briefing, civil litigation, and claim administration.

• Exceptional ability in complaint handling and resolving legal disputes.

• A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is required.

• Must be admitted to practice law in the state.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work within deadlines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High level of professionalism and ethical standards.

• Familiarity with construction/contractor industry regulations and standards.

• Experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents and contracts.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Commitment to ongoing detail oriented development and staying updated on legal changes related to the construction/contracting industry.
