Internship opportunities exist inDow’s Global Purchasing teamfor individuals who are working towards a degree in Engineering or a Business-related degree such as Marketing, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, Communications. Specifically, we are offering an internship opportunity (Master Thesis) in Dow’s Global Purchasing Department inTerneuzen, The Netherlands.During this internship you will support Dow’s work closing the gender gap in logistics, promoting diversity, innovation, and better business outcomes for all.

Responsibilities

  • Explore gender diversity issues in the logistics industry, focusing on barriers to entry, retention, and advancement for women

  • Investigate existing policies, practices, and initiatives that support gender equality in the logistics sector across Europe

  • Collect data through surveys, interviews, or focus groups involving women currently working in the logistics industry

  • Conduct case studies with organizations in logistics to understand best practices and challenges in fostering gender equality

  • Analyze publicly available industry data on gender diversity, wages, career progression, and representation in leadership roles within logistics companies

  • Work with logistics companies that are part of the consortium to understand their internal policies and programs regarding gender diversity

  • Establish partnerships with at least two logistics companies to pilot gender-diversity initiatives or collect in-depth data

  • Set and follow a clear project timeline, with regular progress updates to both the academic supervisor and a consortium representative

  • Participate in at least one workshop or seminar organized by the consortium to understand current trends and issues in the logistics industry

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree in Engineering or a Business related major, such as Marketing, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, Communications

  • Performing the internship as part of a Master Thesis project
