Job Summary:

The Manager Clinical Pharmacy (PIC) is responsible for performing clinical and professional pharmaceutical work in the review, processing, compounding and dispensing of prescribed medications, drugs and supplies needed for patient care in accordance with all state and federal regulations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to develop and mentor direct reports to ensure a balanced workflow and maximized output; Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; Build and maintain employee morale and motivation; Ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace

  • Provide oversight of clinical decision making and operational aspects of the pharmacy

  • Develop direct reports through orientation, training, communication of rules and constructive feedback, motivation, and loyalty. Identifies and develop direct reports abilities for promotional opportunities.

  • Inform direct reports of departments' plans, programs, and operations that affect their areas, Implement pharmacy organization structure through proper hiring and placement, scheduling of work, assignment of responsibility, and delegation of authority

  • Responsible for supporting compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws as well as company and pharmacy policies and procedures

  • Develop standards of work performance, orientation, and training programs and facilitate

  • continuous improvement to achieve business results; recognizes development needs and capability gaps and arranges specific projects/assignments to address needs

  • Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, oversight and implementation of departmental budget

  • Responsible for leading a team through teaching, coaching and inspiring by fostering a sense of energy, ownership and a responsibility for the flawless execution of operational excellence engage in the selection and hiring process as needed

  • Other responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictates

External Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD

  • Current pharmacist license without restrictions in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the State in which the position is located may require additional State Board of Pharmacy licenses or other credentials, such as NABP Verify, based on regulatory requirements and/ or business needs

  • If applicable, the ability to obtain additional pharmacist licenses without restriction and in good standing as required including the state in which the pharmacy is located

  • 5 years work experience as a pharmacist

  • 1 year of leadership / people management experience

  • Experience analyzing in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and design solutions

  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing of multiple projects with varying completion dates; ability to develop and deliver presentations to various audience levels

  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.

  • At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
