That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?

In short, the entry level Corporate Claims Specialist is part of the Corporate Insurance & Safety (CIS) Team and works to help reduce total cost of risk when an incident occurs.

In long, our Corporate Claims Specialist is responsible for:

  • Working closely with internal teams, insurance carriers, police departments, vendors, and our Third-Party Administrator (TPA) to ensure timeliness of incident reporting, data collection, investigation, and resolution of physical damage auto and property claims.

  • Reviewing incident reports to investigate losses and seek timely resolution of claims for all damages to vehicles prior to being sold to customers or DriveTime property.

  • Documenting all actions and activities related to individual incidents in the internal incident management database, setting follow-up timelines based on priority and need, and completing follow-up tasks timely and efficiently.

  • Thinking independently to determine if an incident shall be self-administered or reported to an insurance carrier.

  • Collaborating with internal teams and leadership to determine the best plan of action in complex or high-severity incidents.

  • Coordinating incident completion within required internal guidelines, including working to secure recovery from at-fault parties through a subrogation process.

  • Analyzing and presenting trends from data collected via reports and meetings.

  • Providing recommendations for future reduction, training, and prevention of incidents to help reduce the overall total cost of risk.

  • Gathering and completing monthly reports for data tracking purposes, accounting purposes, and trend development purposes.

  • Assisting with training and mentorship of current & future CIS team members.

  • Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with all DriveTime employees, external vendors, carriers, and providers to achieve appropriate claim resolution.

The Specifics

  • Preferable to have one to two years of claim handling experience, including claim intake, investigation, and adjusting claims including auto, property, total loss, subrogation, or commercial claims.

  • In lieu of claims experience, any insurance, project management, , or risk management experience will also be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

  • Able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication across all formats ( with all levels of people internal and external.

  • Ability to work in multiple systems in a high-volume environment

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Access, Word, etc.).
