The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the operational activities relating to the Corporate Banking business’ Loan Trading area in the Middle Office. Support the primary and secondary loan trading process pertinent to funding and documentation aspects. Main daily focus is on ensuring the completion of loan trade settlements, preparation and reviewing of legal documents, and calculation of settlement amounts. The team is responsible for providing operational support to our Syndications, Business Lines, and Trading Desk teams.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate with members of the back office and front office teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of daily loan trade settlements.

  • Review the LSTA standard loan trading documentations such as Trade Confirmations, Assignment and Agreements, and Funding Memorandums prepared by the team’s Analysts in accordance with the procedures.

  • Review the calculation sheet for interest and fees prepared by the team’s Analysts for various deal and trading types.

  • Oversee the Analysts’ communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Review, approve, and sign (if applicable) daily trade settlements across various platforms.

  • Work closely with related department managers, back office and front office teams to provide Credit Middle Office operational support as needed.

  • Ensure work is completed to the highest of standards and seek opportunities to identify areas for process improvements and added controls.

  • Ensure adherence to internal SLA’s, risk metrics and Bank’s internal policies/requirements.

  • Anticipate and understand potential issues arising from the daily operations, address them preemptively, or escalate them appropriately for timely resolution.

  • Coordinate with the team manager to complete internal and external audits when requested.

  • Oversee the analyst to coordinate pre-closing requirements with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Portfolio Management, Syndications, Credit, Loan and Agency Services, Finance, Legal, and Back Office Servicing).

  • Review and approve facility and fee booking in the Bank’s internal system.

  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks related to Loan trading when necessary and upon request.

  • Execute best practices of control, risk mitigation, and escalation.

  • Adhere to the Bank’s policy and procedures at all times.

  • Review trade information that is manually maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years banking experience and strong knowledge of loan trading products.

  • Knowledge of Banking Regulations and Standard Practices, knowledge of LSTA (Loan Syndications and Trading Association) preferred.

  • Ability to review and interpret credit agreements.

  • Ability to identify operational gap, propose and implement risk mitigants.

  • Ability to solve problems, make good judgments and work under minimum supervision.

  • Requires excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

  • Team player with an ability to work with colleagues in a collaborative manner.

  • Must have a supervisory experience with a proven skillset to guide and lead the team.

  • Prior experience working in a credit middle office or loan operations team a plus.

  • Experience with Loan Trading, including ClearPar, Bloomberg, Sentry, and OVS knowledge preferred.

  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members and senior management in a respectful manner.

  • Strong attention to details.

  • Analytical skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and process high-volume product.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, execute.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Commitment to perform at the highest level.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $80K - $100K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
