Amazon Data Center Engineering Operations Regional Manager in Tel Aviv, Israel

As a Regional Data Centre Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for data center engineering operations across three Amazon Data Center availability zones, managing a team of engineers responsible for the 100% availability of mechanical and electrical services, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, Colo vendor management and metric reporting.

Key job responsibilities

Some other tasks you will have are:

· Responsibility for the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with Amazon practices and procedures.

· Conducting financial analysis and contributes to financial decisions. Negotiating and rolling out of contracts and defining audit SLA's.

· Overseeing the build out of Facility-specific infrastructure in existing locations.

· Conducting Project Management for multiple sites.

· Using your business knowledge to set priorities and develop project plans.

· Contributing to the development of the project plan for the business group

· Effectively set priorities to meet goals on budget and on time.

· Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance.

· Working with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency.

· Operating and managing both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.

· Responsibility for asset and inventory management.

· Delivering quality service and ensure all customer demands are met

As a Manager you will:

· Manage mangers and a team of 5 or more direct reports.

· Participate in recruiting efforts.

· Be an active participant in the training and/or development of others.

· Executing vision and goals for the team or department.

· Keeps others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company.

· Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance.

· May manage individuals and/or other managers in remote locations.

Basic Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree and relevant experience.

•4+ years of relevant work experience.

•2+ years of management experience.

•6+ years of high-volume mission-critical operational environment (eg data center, healthcare, high technology manufacturing, large scale production, aviation maintenance) preferably 7x24x365 operational experience & responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

•6+ years of Data Center Engineering Management Experience

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.

•Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fibre) cabling

•Strong verbal and written communication skills.

•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

•Able to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.

•Insists on the highest standards from self and others. Drives accountability for results.
