ABM Industries Quality Control Supervisor in Tampa, Florida
Overview
The Field Quality Control Inspector uses working knowledge to provide the process of evaluating or assessing a landscaping or grounds maintenance vendor (contractor) to ensure that their mowing services meet the agreed-upon standards, quality, and safety requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
No experience required and on the job training provided
Must possess valid, unexpired driver’s license
No high school diploma, GED or college degree required
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year of similar experience preferred
Prior surveyor or Quality Control experience preferred
Possession of an Inspector Certification in a technical field is preferred
Responsibilities:
Inspection of overall grounds on campus
Mowing Height: Ensure the grass is cut to the correct height (varies depending on the grass type and season).
Clippings management: Inspect whether grass clippings are either mulched, bagged, or disposed of in a clean and environmentally friendly manner.
Cleanliness: Look for any debris or leftover materials left behind after mowing.
Edge Trimming: Check that edges, borders, and around obstacles (trees, fences, etc.) are neatly trimmed.
Lawn Condition: Verify that the lawn is mowed evenly and appropriately, with no missed spots.
Frequency and Timeliness: Ensure that the mowing is being done according to the schedule set in the contract.
Contract Specifications: Verify that all service areas are being covered as agreed upon in the contract.
Inspection Reports: Review reports or logs of past inspections and service history to ensure consistency and track performance over time.
Access and Restrictions: Ensure that the vendor is complying with any access restrictions (e.g., gates, locked areas) and knows specific requirements for unique features like gardens, trees, or special landscaping elements.
Perform Quality Control Inspections to ensure that work activities meet required quality standards
Check schools for any damage or potential hazard, and if found immediately reports to supervisor
