Voyig LLC Plant Operations Manager Trainee in Tampa, Florida

Overview

ThePlant Operations Manageroversees all facility operations including production, shipping/receiving/delivery, warehouse/inventory, hardware, and maintenance functions. Responsible for safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory and associated metrics including TIR, cost of quality, OTIF, Window and Labor margins. The goal for this position is to support our value proposition by safely delivering quality products to our customers when they need them at the lowest cost possible. The following description details the duties. These duties include but are not limited to the following functions.

Responsibilities

  • Facility safety tracking, performance, and root-cause to ensure our employees do not get injured.

  • Strives for operation that makes a quality product by doing things right the first time and minimizing waste associated with scrap, wrong product specs, etc.

  • Coordinates a shipping/delivery department that gets the products to the job site when the customer wants them, at the lowest cost possible through logistics planning and inventory management.

  • Engages workforce in continual improvement initiatives to ensure we are eliminating all forms of waste from the operation and maximizing process efficiencies. Utilizes hour by hour boards, SQDCI boards and process audits to ensure compliance to established standards.

  • Works with order entry for coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence.

  • Identifies needs and recruits appropriate staffing to meet our commitments.

  • Reviews ongoing performance results to targets. Utilizes trend charts and Pareto charts to identify opportunity areas and takes corrective measures.

  • Participates in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning process as appropriate.

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective mariner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

    Qualifications

  • Strong manufacturing/warehouse background including demonstrated problem-solving abilities.

  • High emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills.

  • Proven ability to delegate responsibilities effectively.

  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment.

  • Works well with upper management as well as subordinates.

  • Well versed in Microsoft products.

  • Prefer strong continual improvement background.

    Working Conditions

  • Job requires some extended hours, as needed, to accomplish job requirements.

  • Job requires working in manufacturing/warehouse environment which includes high temperatures and humidity.

  • Job requires working in and around machinery and associated safety risks.

  • Job requires interaction with all levels of the organization including President, Director of Operations, General Manager, Director of Sales, Director of Multifamily and all their direct reports (as needed).

  • Job requires interaction with customers to resolve issues.
