Job Overview

The Enterprise Risk Applications Development Manager is responsible for accomplishing results through the management of leading teams to establish and implement new or and revised data engineering systems and programs in coordination with the Business, Architecture, and Technology Teams as part of our large digital transformation journey. The overall objective of this role is to design and implement drive next generation, state of the art data analysis systems. You will manage the quality of the engineering teams’ quality of delivery, mentor the technical team, manage technical risk, and translate business needs into digital reality.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • Manage multiple teams of professional data engineers inclusive of performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions.

  • Lead teams from across the system to analyze data from internal and external systems

  • Provide expertise as a technical resource to solve complex business problems that translate into data integration and database systems designs

  • Ensure all deliverables are of high quality by adhering to standards and participating in code reviews

  • Mentor, support, and manage large teams.

  • Bring data engineering principles, practices, and philosophies into all data engineering projects

  • Create logical and physical data model architecture, data extract/transform/load processes, reporting and analytics solutions

  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results

  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary

  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets

  • Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ experience in data engineering and end to end automation of data pipelines.

  • Experience in data modeling and information architecture including experience with Big Data, Relational Databases such as Oracle, columnar data stores, real-time data analytics, streaming and batch processing.

  • Experience with Java, data APIs, Data Lakes, open shift, reporting and analytics platforms

  • Comfortable with streaming and big data concepts using design patterns with software like Spark, Flink, Kafka, HDFS, Airflow, Elastic Search, and Ignite

  • Strong understanding of relational & NoSQL databases, data structures, data science and business intelligence workflows

  • Experience with large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS and other technologies.

  • Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization

  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning data toolkits

  • Experience managing global technology teams.

  • Working knowledge of industry practices and standards relative to data engineering

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

  • Financial Industry experience in risk management is a plus.

  • Financial Industry experience in risk management especially in Enterprise RIsk is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

$141,440.00 - $212,160.00
