The Opportunity

Black & Veatch is seeking a Regional Pursuit Manager to join our talented, inclusive, and supportive Sales & Pursuits team. This is a management-level position with responsibility to lead and develop a team of proposal coordinators/specialists, ensure compliance with company best practices and client requirements, assign appropriate talent to task, and ensure a balanced workload through management/coordination of support for all sales and pursuits efforts in the Eastern U.S. The Regional Pursuit Manager collaborates with client-facing and internal teams to establish priorities, provide work direction and coordinate proposal assignments while monitoring work to ensure schedule compliance and quality deliverables are achieved.

The Team

Our Governments & Communities business sector provides innovative solutions for integrated planning, design, engineering, and construction support of critical infrastructure and facilities as well as resiliency and environmental services for clients worldwide. The Governments & Communities Sales & Pursuits team collaborates with business leaders and client-facing professionals to plan and execute strategies and develop pursuit and proposal materials with focused messaging and content. Our team provides expertise in pursuit strategy and proposal management. We help teams enhance Black & Veatch's position as an industry leader and deliver new business.

We help teams:

Win work - assess, position for and capture opportunities

Showcase expertise - develop client- and pursuit- specific sales materials

Inform, persuade, compel - create designs and strategic communications

Drive efficient and effective results - manage best-practice tools and processes

Key Responsibilities

• Manages staff of proposal coordinators/specialists; responsible for performance. management and career development activities.

• Maintains pursuit assignment reports and leads weekly workload status calls.

• Collaborates with regional peers to coordinate workshare opportunities/assignments.

• Coaches direct reports on improving their unique skillsets and encourages personal growth

• Creates a positive work environment, supports safety initiatives, and promotes a culture that reflects the fundamental values of the firm.

• Establishes and maintains quality assurance and ensures compliance of brand standards for all deliverables.

• Drives process adherence to ensure best practice.

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in InDesign / Adobe Creative Cloud

• A/E/C industry experience preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Supervisory skills including teambuilding and conflict management

• Solid understanding and experience in implementing proposal quality review processes

• Strong interpersonal and networking skills

• Strong research and analysis skills

• Advanced problem solving and organization skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering, project or proposal experience.

  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
