Job Summary:
Responsible for the operations activities relating to the Corporate Banking business’s credit administration area in the Middle Office. Support a portfolio of syndicated and bilateral deals in which MUFG is a Lender and at times also the Administrative Agent. Main day-to-day focus is on the coordination of the booking of new and amendment credit deals by interpreting credit agreements, reviewing the necessary approvals and other supporting documents as per the bank’s internal guidelines and policies. This individual will also be required to coordinate transaction bookings with various counterparts including the business lines and back-office operations.
Major Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate with members of the back office and front office teams to ensure accurate and timely closing of new credit lines.
Review and verify closing packages supporting the booking or an amendment of a credit line facility.
Act as a SME (subject matter expect) and participate in process improvements and automation/enhancements to current activities.
Works closely with related department managers, back office and front office teams providing Credit Middle Office operational support as needed.
Ensure work is completed to the highest of standards and seek opportunities to identify areas for process improvements and added controls.
Ensure adherence to internal SLA’s, metrics and Banks internal policies/requirements.
Able to anticipate and understand issues credit administration related issues, and escalate appropriately for timely resolution.
Maintain the credit file quality and prepare for compliance issues associated with internal or external examinations.
Plan and provide operation trainings and study sessions in regard to most updated procedures and regulations with supervisor.
Execute all secondary loan trading closings, and document management with counterparties and prospective investors.
Perform duties related to pre-closing and post-closing phase of agency transactions.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years banking experience and strong knowledge of credit administration/loan operations.
Strong organizational, communication, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter, motivated and ability to complete tasks and projects with minimum supervision.
Proven track record of implementing change and managing through difficult circumstances.
Requires excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Team player with ability to work with colleagues in a collaborative manner, as well as ability to manage prioritization.
Supervisory experience necessary.
Prior experience working in a credit middle office or loan operations team a plus.
Experience with Loan Trading, including ClearPar knowledge a plus.
Working knowledge of MS Office.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $80K - $100K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
