The Team and Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, highly-motivated marketing professional to join our team and run point on the development and delivery of exceptional educational programming content for our clients. In this role, you will work with our subject matter experts to produce thought leadership presentations, provide support and coaching to our presenters, coordinate all continuing education credits, cultivate relationships with industry associations/media groups, and secure external speaking engagements, while assisting with article placements.

Our Content Marketing Team at J.S. Held is a dynamic team of strategic marketing and creative professionals who support all thought leadership initiatives among the company’s 1,500+ consultants, including but not limited to articles, whitepapers, research reports, presentations, speaking engagements, and podcast interviews.

Job Responsibilities

  • Help position the firm and our consultants as thought leaders across technical, scientific, financial, investigative, and risk-related topics, among others

  • Adhere to presentation best practices and J.S. Held brand standards in the development of educational programming for content marketing purposes

  • Lead development and delivery of new/updated educational programming presentations, including working with the Event Captain to gather info about the event and presentation; selecting/advising on presentation topic and speaker(s); confirming and supporting continuing education needs; developing/collaborating with business stakeholders on outline/presentation development, business reviews, and content finalization; scheduling and conducting practice session(s)/run-through(s) ahead of the presentation; providing feedback to and coaching presenters; confirming event contingency plans; scheduling and conducting a debrief call after the session; providing thought leadership materials for use in follow up

  • QA/QC educational programming presentations to ensure spelling, grammar, tone, voice, etc. are consistent and without errors; that strong visuals are present that comply with brand standards, copyright, and best practices; and that presentation content is proper length and in alignment with presentation best practices

  • Support the migration of educational programs from acquired firms into our content marketing library and ensure timely completion of reviewed deliverables

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with industry associations and media outlets for article placement and speaking engagement opportunity pursuits

  • Execute the pursuit of desired article placements and speaking engagements in accordance with strategic plans and submission deadlines

  • Develop course overview for educational program catalog each time a course is put together

  • Identify gaps/opportunities in our educational programming (e.g., practice/service lines without sessions or recent sessions) and work with business stakeholders to develop sessions to fill those gaps

  • Monitor industry trends and content shifts for risks to current efforts, as well as opportunities for growth/expansion of our content marketing efforts

  • Contribute to a positive team culture, uphold personal accountability, and consistently produce high-quality deliverables

  • Deliver high-quality service to internal and external clients and cultivate strong, productive partnerships with business stakeholders

  • Cultivate and manage partnership with continuing education administration vendor – coordinating projects, advising on prioritization of requests, troubleshooting any issues

  • Independently manage assigned projects and tasks to achieve project objectives on time and within budget (when costs are associated)

  • Conduct quarterly review of Educational Programming Catalog to ensure new topics are present and new/expanded practice and/or services lines are represented

  • Support the development and management of Content Marketing Team standard operating procedures

  • Support the development of annual budget forecasts and provide expense reporting/forecasts throughout the year in support of budget management

  • Responsible for providing comprehensive, accurate, and timely reporting

    Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of extensive, dynamic experience in professional communications, marketing, journalism, or related field

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing, or relevant work experience in the field

  • Strong knowledge of educational programming and experience delivering sessions to current and prospective clients

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to coach presenters on best practices and strategies to maximize audience engagement and increase the impact of their sessions

  • Strong relationship building skills to deliver on strategic outreach goals for article placements and speaking engagements

  • Advanced copywriting and copyediting capabilities and exceptional spelling/grammar

  • Strong project management and time management, with the ability to handle multiple, high-priority assignments simultaneously

  • Ability to strategically analyze business requests and advise stakeholders on the most effective and efficient solution to achieve their objectives

  • Ability to translate complex technical, scientific, and financial concepts into simple and easily understood thought leadership assets

  • Agility and adaptability in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to interact and collaborate with various functional areas, including stakeholders in and outside of Marketing, and senior leadership throughout the firm

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage and execute projects independently, from ideation to completion

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite

  • B2B Marketing experience

  • Solution-oriented with the ability to overcome roadblocks
