Title and Summary

Commercial Solutions – Program Management Office (PMO) - Manager

• The card and non-card, business-to-business (‘B2B’) payments space represents a significant opportunity for Mastercard. To enable Mastercard to deliver value in this space it needs to think big and bold, innovate with intention, deliver scalable solutions, and move fast to exceed our clients’ expectations.

• Mastercard is focused on developing partnerships, a platform vision, and an approach to address historic pain points around B2B Payments, as well as to create new value delivery opportunity at multiple levels, in ways that go beyond payment.

• The PMO is responsible for 5 pillars supporting the Commercial Solutions B2B payments business:

  1. Executive Reporting – Work with cross-functional stakeholders to prepare updates to the CEO, Management Committee, and other senior leadership groups

  2. Partnership Commercialization - Accelerate partner commercialization, establish repeatable processes for contracting, go-to-market planning, and track KPIs post-implementation. This includes building direct relationships with B2B network partners and expanding relationships within the B2B networks and their clients to drive payment volumes

  3. Product Strategy and Governance - Maintain a consolidated product roadmap across multiple large global programs and enforce change management by using a quantitative scoring methodology to ensure new solution requests align to Commercial Solution strategy

  4. Post-Acquisition Integration - Manage acquisition integration across functions, maintain a comprehensive plan to manage key risks and interdependencies. Lead development of acquisition key tracking metrics aligned with transaction value drivers and manage synergy plans to drive performance management

  5. Vendor Performance Management – Work with Product and Engineering leads to develop and monitor metrics to measure and track vendor and partner performance, identify growth and improvement opportunities, and evaluate the value and impact

• The Manager level candidate will work with global and regional Product and Engineering leadership to drive measurable outcomes by coordinating with internal Mastercard teams and external clients around the activities needed to support the PMO pillars of responsibility

• The Manager level candidate will have an opportunity to work across all 5 pillars of the Commercial Solutions PMO

Role

• Help lead complex and high-priority projects, and manage sponsors and stakeholders with competing priorities and time constraints across all typical project phases:

  1. Project initiation and scoping, including definition of plans and setting and managing realistic expectations for successful delivery with internal stakeholders and external clients. Support business case development and benefits realization tracking. Develop project documentation, including project plans, risk and issue logs, and status reports

  2. Business analysis and requirements definition. Support business case development and benefits realization tracking.

  3. Testing and implementation. Communicate testing status to senior management, and other key stakeholders

  4. Ongoing project management, and quality assurance throughout the project. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones. Facilitate stakeholder meetings and communications including preparation and distribution of Weekly Project Updates and measurements against GDV targets Ensure compliance with program and project management standards. Liaise closely with other project participants to feed requirements and learnings to speed and scale onboarding efforts

All About You

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field

• 5-7 years of experience in program or project management (experience in financial services or management consulting strongly preferred)

• Excellent communications skills to communicate with stakeholders, including senior management, cross-functional teams, and clients, and to facilitate stakeholder meetings

• Strong analytical skills to analyze data and information, to make informed decisions, and to identify and mitigate risks and issues that arise during the project lifecycle

• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

• Demonstrated ability to work across products, regions, and functions, preferably in the financial services industry

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment to ensure timely delivery of project milestones

• Must be adaptable and able to work well under pressure, as well as be open to change and able to adjust to new circumstances and situations as they arise

• Knowledge of project management methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable or additional capabilities:

• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of one or more key B2B corporate business areas, how they work and commercials, specifically: commercial card solutions, corporate travel and spend management, treasury solutions (transaction banking), and embedded finance solutions

• Business to business (B2B) network and solution awareness

• Experience developing integration plans for newly acquired companies, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables

• Experience providing regular reporting on vendor performance r

• Working knowledge of Smartsheet, including the ability to create project plans, reports, and dashboards

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
